Eastern and Oriental was founded by Evani, A kind warm hearted teacher by profession, with a love for fashion. As Evani prepared for her own Wedding Day, she travelled to India to look for her perfect bridal outfit, finding that her options within South Africa were limited, Evani was not willing to accept anything average. At the onset, it seemed like the best idea was to travel to India however, this idea started to turn out to be tedious and painful as the days went by, browsing numerous stores in Mumbai and spending almost 10 hours a day shopping and still not finding her perfect piece, she then decided to travel out of Mumbai to explore her options further. In the heart of the Northern State of India. lie the age old artisans and Karigar women who craft beautiful impeccable bridal Lehengas that are hand stitched and embroidered with precision and charm. It was at this very moment that Evani realised she could turn her experience into opportunity, an opportunity for South African Brides to have access to the best designer outfits for her special day and this brought fruit to the birth of Eastern and Oriental Fashion House.
